  • The Civic Mystics

    A civic action support group especially for the astrology girlies/theys/gays. (See our coverage in WIRED!) Members receive inspiration, community, hard-to-find info about down-ballot offices and voting protocols, and collaboration to creatively activate their own circles.

  • Tex Support

    This a collaboration between Democrasexy and the queer mental health care providers at Prism Integrated Health. Tex Support is for Texans who are sad about Texas – a space to talk specifically about the ways policy decisions in Texas impact our wellbeing.

  • Bi for Now

    Bisexual and pansexual folks make up the largest percentage of the LGBTQIA+ community but experience a unique kind of invisibility, which experts believe may explain why bisexual folks have the worst health outcomes of any sexual orientation. Intentional community is one way to keep each other healthy.

  • ConventionALL

    ConventionALL is a recruitment and coaching effort to get more young, progressive, non-party-insiders involved in political conventions. The best version of this program would offer scholarships to attend the state and national convention – cost is a huge barrier to young folks and folks without a lot of resources.

  • Y'allentines Day

    Y'allentines Day

    A '90s middle school dance-themed party designed to show the Texas trans community love and teach cisgender folks how to be better allies. It has also raised money for Black Trans Leadership of Austin, a local Black-and-trans-led mutual aid group.

  • Foremothers Tours

    A feminist tour of the Texas State Cemetery, teaching folks about lesser-known state history and renewing their belief in the possibility of progress here today. Afterwards, folks say things like, "This is the first time I've felt proud of being Texan in a really long time."

  • Texorcism

    A witchy-themed gathering to update us on what the hell happened to abortion rights in Texas and what the hell we can do to elect pro-choice leaders. A GOTV effort held at the start of early voting that also raises money for organizations in Texas working for abortion rights.

  • Ballot Guides

    Around 6,000 (and growing) voters in Texas use our ballot guides every election. Our ballot guides are popular because they explain what each office does in plain language, give concrete examples from current officeholders, and include Becky’s recommendations (which people trust because they feel they personally know her and her values).

  • Social Media

    Civic education, activation, and inspiration on Instagram and TikTok. (Democrasexy’s IG content reached 20,000 accounts this past month)

  • Emails

    Occasional informational newsletters to our list of 600+ subscribers. Email open rate ranges between 60 - 95%.

  • Podcast

    The Voice Memos from a Pleasure Activist podcast is an occasional side project for now. Episodes are on the shorter side and intended to be an affirming or thought-provoking casual communication, like a voice memo text from a friend.

  • Substack Essays

    Democrasexy's Substack essays (425+ subscribers) are longer form pieces that combine personal storytelling, historical info, and policy/political commentary.

Meet Our Founder

  • Becky Bullard

    FOUNDER & CEO

    Becky Bullard moved to Austin, TX in 2008 after growing up in Southern California. She spent much of her career as a brand strategist and copywriter for clients like Dell and Chipotle, until the 2016 election sparked an uncontrollable desire to be more civically engaged. To that end, she has served as an Election Judge, a Precinct Chair, Training Co-Chair of her local Democratic Party, 2020 DNC Delegate and now serves as Chair on the City of Austin's Commission for Women.

    She previously co-founded the creative civic engagement company Rouser and was co-host of The Rabble Texas politics podcast where she interviewed notable folks like A'shanti Gholar, Beto O'Rourke, and Wendy Davis and emceed events for Supermajority, the Texas Civil Rights Project, Texas Democrats, the Texas Observer, and others. She also served as communications manager for the Texas Chapter of the Sierra Club.

    She founded Democrasexy in September 2021, using joy and hope to bring more women and queer folks into the work of changemaking in Texas. Becky was named a “Best Texan of 2024” by Progress Texas and was selected as a 2025 finalist for “Best Local Activist” by Austin Chronicle readers for her innovative work in the movement.
