With recent announcements from the Texas Supreme Court and the U.S. Supreme Court creating a rollercoaster of emotions for LGBTQIA+ Texans who are considering marriage, members of Austin’s queer community are responding with a celebration of love.
On Sunday, December 7, couples of any sexual orientation or gender identity are invited to come out and get married or renew their wedding vows FOR FREE at The Cathedral in Austin, TX.
Couples who wish to wed or renew their vows at the December 7 ceremony must sign up ahead of time via the form found at BigQueerWedding.com. The ceremony will be officiated by Travis County Judge Denise Hernández. Anyone from the community is invited to join the celebration whether or not they intend to wed – RSVP is encouraged at BigQueerWedding.com.

The Big Queer Wedding Party is being organized by The Honorable Denise Hernández, presiding judge at Travis County Court at Law #6; Becky Bullard, founder of the creative civic engagement organization Democrasexy; and Noah Day and Bri.
