Election Lessons Learned: Comparing Notes on the TX Midterms

  • Brew and Brew 500 San Marcos Street Austin, TX, 78702 United States (map)

Texas progressives obviously have our work cut out for us when it comes to turning folks out to vote.

Leading up to the midterm election, I spent hundreds of hours creating content and events to try and drive voter turnout. I've compiled everything I learned from thousands of online & IRL interactions, surveys, and social media data into a brief presentation that I want to share with folks who are invested in galvanizing progressive Texans.

I also want to hear what you learned and observed this election!

Here's how the evening will go:

6:30pm - Arrive & grab food & bev

6:45pm - I'll present my findings

7:05pm - I open the floor for folks to share their own thoughts about this election. This is not a bitch session or an endless airing of grievances! This is a time for folks to offer observations from their own election experience, ideas on how to grow civic engagement among progressive Texans, and general proactive brainstorming.

8pm - Formal end to event. But you're welcome to hang out! Brew & Brew just started a wine club and they will give us the downlow on the vino.

Sponsored by the Brew & Brew's new wine club! Attendees of this event who sign up for the wine club get $25 off their first month with code DEMOCRASEXY.

NOTE: Tickets are free but you MUST reserve one ahead of time if you want to attend because space is extremely limited.

About Democrasexy:

Democrasexy makes democracy sexy so more people do it. I curate events and create content connecting issues we care about with actions we can take in a way that excites rather than overwhelms.

Fun explainer videos, "Tarot for America" videos, & events like "Texorcism" made Democrasexy a finalist for the Austin Chronicle's 2022 "Best Politics & Media Wildcard" Award.

Democrasexy puts fun & humor first and foremost, attracting young Texans to the political process regardless of whether they consider themselves "activists." It's a way of "hiding the vegetable" of civic education by making learning a treat.
